Robert's story so far:

Robert worked alongside Peter Occardi at Fulton & Wylie designing water and emergency tenders for numerous local authority and government services before going to Paisley University to study Mechanical Engineering.

Upon graduation he relocated to California to work for Thermal Technology Inc and helped develop several new types of high temperature process furnaces for US National laboratories and private companies in the technology sector.

After returning to the UK he took up a position with IMI Vision, a “blue sky” R&D company owned by IMI Plc. Where, in addition to running his own projects he was the company’s “mechanical trouble-shooter” and workshop manager.

During his time at Roger Dyson he was responsible for all the design and development work on the sub 5 tonne product range. This included the Dyson flagship product; the Super Low Approach (SLA) which he re-engineered to a modular philosophy and increased the range of chassis it could be fitted to.

At Froude Hoffman he became involved in the company’s largest new development project; a universal rolling road dynamometer that could accommodate and sub 7.5 tonne vehicle currently on the market.

Robert left to help in the development of a new lightweight ambulance for what was to become response-sv in September 07.

“I’m excited to be part of what I genuinely believe to be the beginning of a revolution in the specialist vehicle industry.  Working alongside people committed to the same goal, backed by twenty first-century design tools and methods we will turn Specialist Vehicle manufacture into a hi-tech industry.”
