Moulded Part Excellence, Computer Numerically Controlled
response-sv’s automated ‘pride & joy’ is our five axis computer numerically-controlled (CNC) machine. Having access to such a machine literally transforms the way a design and manufacturing facility can operate: The CNC gives our designers the freedom to design complex, intricate parts with precise curvatures, safe in the knowledge we have the production capacity to physically produce them. The precision computer-controlled cutting tool is then able to carve a dimensionally perfect (accurate to within 0.03mm over a 4.2m-length), new part ‘plug’ from specialist modelling materials, within hours of the part being designed.
Once CNC (and hand-made), plugs are complete, we are able to move these items quickly to our chosen GRP laminators and polymer moulding suppliers, for timely production of moulds, tools and parts.
In many instances, response-sv have been able to move the design process through concepting a 3-D solid model design, a CNC machining or a tool making an ABS part within twenty-four hours.
This is a revolution in the ambulance design and manufacturing industry, which benefits our customers by making it possible to drastically reduce new product 'time to market', and at the same time producing better-resolved, more aesthetically-pleasing parts from polymer and fibreglass materials.
Laser precision, lighter-weight
Our capacity for producing intricate parts does not stop with mouldings. Via our access to Bystronic™ laser technology cutting machinery and precision folding equipment, we are able to produce complex metallic parts, intelligently engineered for strength through form – as opposed to through crude metallic ‘bulk’, as is common in our industry – to yield optimum body reinforcement at low piece-part weight. As with our moulded part development, we are able to exploit our CAD-CAM engineering prowess to new levels in the SV industry, such that we can design, engineer and manufacture complex metallic parts within hours rather than weeks.
